...Fall...

I'm sorry I keep complaining, but...

My heart is aching for
the sight of changing leaves and pumpkins and
the feel of cool weather and and sweaters and
the smell of apple orchards and BBQ's and
the taste of apple slushies and apple pies and
the sound of tailgating and football season....

Sure, we had about a week of "cold" weather here in Tegucigalpa. I put on my boots and a sweater, and celebrated with a pot of chili.

But, it's hot again. And the hot weather and tropical plants just aren't doing it for me anymore.

And these pictures that my aunt posted on Facebook of my parents' farm in Kentucky....well, that just makes it worse. :(

And these pictures from the campus of my alma mater...Western Kentucky University...

I've got a really bad case of homesickness. *sigh* I hear they have REAL pumpkins at the supermarket Pais. Maybe that will lift my spirits...

Does watching people or places on tv with fall and cool weather make your heart ache too? It made me almost salivate when I would see people with sweaters and scarfs on donning trendy fall coats and shoes on tv.

Maybe try burning candles with scents of fall. I also did this at Christmas time too.

I am freezing here. It's been in the 40s and 50s and cold and rainy. I miss the sun and the warmth. I am enjoying making pumpkin bread and eating pancakes with pumpkin pie seasoning on them though. We are hiding inside. It's not even good weather to enjoy fall.

HS, I love the scent of cinnamon and pumpkin scented candles!

If you look back too long, you won't be able to see where you are headed! Enjoy your GREAT ADVENTURE here. That's what I tell myself everytime I get lost, or almost get crushed in traffic, etc.

And soon it will be cold and damp in lots of places in the US. Who needs that? Better to live in the land of sandals, verdad?

I ate pumpkin pupusas in El Salvador. You can find ways to mix in a little fall into you life here.
